ALLIANCE MONDE POLYMÈRES 2014: a unique and high-profile event in the polymer industry at Chaudière-Appalaches

It is with a real sense of anticipation that Développement PME Chaudière-Appalaches (DPME C-A), Vallée de la Plasturgie and Vallée des Élastomères announced, on September 12th, 2013, the first edition of the Alliance Monde Polymères 2014 initiative, a worldwide outreach event regarding the polymer industry. Under the patronage of M. Jean-François Hamel, president of PCM Innovation, this event aims to provide the Quebec manufacturers with the opportunity to learn more on the latest technologies and innovations, and to discover their industry’s emerging markets. Industries using other materials, such as wood and steel, are also invited to discover the various alternatives offered by polymers which may help increase their benefits.

As of today, more than 35 expert speakers have signed up for the event, which will be held on February 11th and 12th 2014 at Lévis’ Centre des congrès et d’expositions. ”We are proud to gather a great number of experts in order to present a unique and high-profile event to the small and medium manufacturing companies of Chaudière-Appalaches and Québec, during which they will have the opportunity to make important discoveries on main topics in the polymer industry” says M. Daniel Voyer, Executive Director at DPME C-A.

Program overview

The program contains various activities grouped under three main components: sales and market development, labor force and innovation.

The sales and market development component highlights testimonials from inspiring and innovative companies like MEGA Brands, Groupe Soucy, PCM Innovation and Creaform, as well as conferences and panel discussions on new market development. Attendees will also learn more about business opportunities in other countries like Brazil, Mexico, Chile and African countries.

The labor force component mainly provides conferences on various topics, including mind mapping, attracting and retaining workers, immigration and labour standards. Professionals from the composite, plastic and rubber industries will want to attend these conferences, but this component will also provide useful information for various industries.

As for the innovation component, two topics will be highlighted: open innovation and manufacturing versatility. Case studies and dynamic conferences based on brainstorming between experts and attendees will be used to cover this topic.

Contest

In addition to raising awareness and inform Québec’s small and medium manufacturing companies, the event aims to showcase numerous innovations. A contest will be held among exhibitions targeting three specific types of customers: businesses, educational and research institutions and students. All contest participants will have the opportunity to submit their innovation solutions, and the chance to win one of the great prizes given during the prestigious banquet held on February 11th.
