Two The Elastomer Valley firms honoured at the 16th edition of the MercadOr awards

The Export Assistance Department of Laurentides Économique was honoured to present the 2014 MercadOr awards on the occasion of the company’s annual cocktail for networking and sharing of expertise, held last 12 February at the Hôtel de region, Laurentides International.

The purpose of the MercadOr awards is to honour four Laurentian enterprises which have excelled in their international development project. More than 100 business leaders and economic partners of the region were present at this annual get-together.

Two member companies of la Vallée des Élastomères were honoured at this event. Elasto Proxy from Boisbriand, represented by Mr. Doug Sharpe, won top honours in the Setting up Shop Abroad category, while Soucy Baron of Saint-Jérôme, represented by its Director General Guy Joannette, won first prize in the Export Leader category.

Mr. Stéphane Lalande, President of Laurentides Économique, praised these companies for their success in conquering foreign markets in a structured and effective way.

The other winners at this event were Mr. Géraud Bonnet of the Desrochers D. beekeeping Farm of Ferme-Neuve , and Mr. Marc Bédard of Autobus Lion, of Saint-Jérôme, who distinguished themselves in the New Exporter category.

Throughout Quebec, the MercadOr awards highlight the success of Quebec export companies. Over the years, the MercadOr awards have grown in importance to become a must event on the Quebec entrepreneurial scene. This was the 16th edition of the MercadOr awards in the Laurentians.
